Tree Dressing Day: Dyke Road Drive
Start time 11am: Meet by Parkmore Terrace
A day of making our street look fabulous
It’s National Tree Week. Come out , meet your neighbours and help with
- Tree dressing – bows, baubles and bulbs
- Clearing out and pruning back the alcoves at the bottom of the road
Bring: gloves, secateurs, bulbs, trowels, coffee, tree baubles. Has anyone got a BIG LADDER? Send us a message by adding a comment below!
2http://dykeroaddrive.org.ukr is National Tree Week. Did you know that Dyke Road Drive’s trees include one of the rarest Elms in the UK? It even has its own listing on Wikipedia!
By making the street look like it belongs to us, we can help cut speeding and other anti-social behaviour.
There’s talk of getting together for a celebratory glass of glög afterwards. Why note come and join us?

Dangerous junction with Preston Road
by William Shaw • • 0 Comments
Following a collision where a bicycle damaged her car, Dyke Road Drive resident Gillian Ludwig raised the issue of the junction at the bottom of Dyke Road Drive being dangerous with councillor Mike Jones. Mike acknowledges from personal experience as a cyclist and a pedestrian that this is a problem because of unclear priorties. Mike Jones contacted the Traffic Planners who have said they are going to make a detailed response to him. Presumably that means they are aware of problems there already. Watch this space.

Sam Frazer?

Does anyone know a Sam Frazer? A neighbour living in the street has some misdirected mail for him.

Bad mobile phone coverage
by William Shaw • • 0 Comments
Frances Tiplady has leafleted the street about this. Coverage here is genuinely awful and that’s not reflected on any coverage maps.
Please add any comments you have about this to the Bulletin Board. It’s probably something we should also discuss at the next meeting, yes?

Apologies for taking so long to post these up – but what an amazing meeting that was, full of great ideas. Great to see so many people at both the meeting and the picnic afterwards.
